About Horizon Sunrise Rotary Club
Service Above Self
Chartered in 1999, Horizon Sunrise Rotary Club is a vibrant group of active, community-minded members dedicated to making a lasting impact across Mesa County and beyond. We believe that hands-on service, fellowship, and local investment build a stronger, more connected community.
Like our fellow Rotary Clubs, we hold annual fundraisers to support local, state and international work. This includes our signature event, A La Mode, as well as pouring beer at downtown events such as Market on Main.
We also actively support and lead various projects in our community such as the First Grade Library Program which aims to provide every 1st grader in Mesa County with their own library card. An active club, we are always looking for volunteer opportunities within our community.
Fueling Early Literacy with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
At the heart of our local work is a deep commitment to youth development and early education through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
Horizon Sunrise Rotary Club champions local fundraising and outreach to deliver free, high-quality, age-appropriate books directly to the homes of young children in Mesa County every month from birth until age five. By getting books into little hands early, we help foster a lifelong love of reading and give local kids the foundation they need to thrive in kindergarten and beyond.
Broad Community Impact
Beyond early literacy, our members roll up their sleeves for local non-profit grants, student scholarships, community food banks, and international humanitarian projects.
Our major initiatives, including our annual A La Mode sweet and savory culinary showcase, raise funds that stay right here in the Grand Valley to support critical local programs and organizations in need.
